Operational Excellence (OE) is a key success factor in our journey and requires a focus on continuous improvement in all aspects and processes in our organization. We are now looking for an Operational Expert to join the team during this exciting phase.

The main responsibilities of the role are;

  • Facilitate across functional teams to lead Kaizens and apply  Lean tools to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory Productivity targets.
  • Prioritize Kazen events with management and manage Kaizen pipeline.
  • Act as a Site subject matter expert in lean tools and systems (examples-5S, SMED, Standard work, VSM, Kanban, Flow, problem solving, daily management, visual factory).
  • Educate, mentor and coach team members on daily visual management and performance, 5S, Kaizen and end to end process flow.
  • Develop value stream maps for Terumo Aortic products and apply lean techniques to eliminate process waste
  • Contribute to the development of the Lean strategy and take ownership of assigned workstreams.
  • With an expertise in the application of analytical problem-solving methodologies, analyse current work practices for improvement, devise and test solutions, and roll out new ways of working.
  • Implement methodologies for problem-solving, ensuring an effective escalation process.
  • Actively seek improvements to Quality Management Systems in collaboration with the Quality team, ensuring alignment with Environmental Health and Safety/Good Manufacturing Practice/Information Systems
  • Conduct Lean health checks, workplace Lean Management system audits, and streamline processes.
  • Use Human Performance tools (eg error prevention tools, active error detection and workplace and work process design) to decrease likelihood of human related events
  • Champion performance excellence, establish best practice methods, and promote safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency improvements.
  • Applying your interpersonal skills, you will support, coach and inspire team members and managers and foster Operational Excellence

 

The successful candidate will possess;

  • Relevant business or manufacturing/engineering/technical degree preferred
  • Leadership experience in a lean enterprise.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent qualification desired
  • Demonstrated industry-related experience in Lean/Six Sigma projects and improvement programs and in applying Lean Tools and Techniques in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice, current Good Manufacturing Practice and regulations as defined by medical device regulatory bodies
  • Substantial process improvement experience with a demonstrable knowledge.
  • Planning and prioritizing activities, assertive, resilient, and adaptable to change
  • Ability to influence and motivate others
  • Proactively engages others, demonstrating moral courage, openness, and honesty in all dealings.
  • Ability to document and measure results, basic statistical analysis and data management
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated use of contemporary human performance principles
