Terumo Aortic are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our innovative team and play a critical role in developing cutting-edge solutions that make a real impact. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background and a passion for product innovation. This position focuses on high-level engineering activities in a collaborative and dynamic environment, contributing to exciting R&D and product development projects.
Key Responsibilities;
- Manage the technical execution of R&D and product development projects, ensuring compliance with internal processes and quality standards.
- Act as the key technical point of contact for assigned projects, providing updates to Core Teams and Senior Management.
- Apply advanced design and analysis methodologies, incorporating new techniques to enhance product performance and development efficiency.
- Support project progression and contribute to sound design decisions across the development lifecycle.
- Prepare and contribute to technical documentation throughout the concept and product development stages within the PLM process.
- Participate in design reviews, offering technical expertise and constructive input.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and matrices in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Offer guidance and technical feedback to junior engineers and Core Team Members as needed.
- Share knowledge of new technologies with relevant Development Teams as projects advance.
- Liaise with third-party suppliers and consultants to support concept development when appropriate.
- Proactively contribute to quality assurance by ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications & Experience;
- Proven experience in mechanical design and analysis; expertise in non-linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is highly desirable.
- Formal engineering qualification (e.g., BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field) is advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with a variety of technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes is beneficial.
- Previous experience in the Medical Device industry is an advantage.
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks), along with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and technical reporting skills.
