Systems Integration/Automation Graduate Engineer

Our Graduate Engineering programme is designed to promote personal and professional growth of new engineers into our business through our various technology, procedures, and processes. The programme is a 24-month rotational programme where graduates get the opportunity to work and gain valuable insight into our business. The programme will consist of three 8-month rotations within our Site Development, Equipment Engineering and Quality Assurance departments. In addition to the rotations all graduates will be further developed through a customised training programme and be supported by a mentor and rotational manager. Our Graduate Engineers will also be given the opportunity to apply to become a member of the IMechE.

JOB PURPOSE:

Fulfils varying engineering tasks and assignments and completes rotations, under varying levels of supervision. Develops skills and capabilities that equips the incumbent to move into a specific engineering role in the organization. Tasks include designing, developing, testing, and implementing equipment and systems that integrate with existing or new products and processes. Working closely with product development, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure that the equipment meets the technical specifications, performance requirements, and quality standards required for a medical device sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Process Design Engineering
Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the analysis of information, the specification of the methods, process steps, and the plant, machinery and equipment required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems.

· Engineering Standards Specification
Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.

· Engineering Solutions Design
Contribute to the development of and implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.

· Engineering Drawings
Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.

· Solutions Analysis
Interpret data and identify possible answers. Involves navigating a wide variety of processes, procedures and precedents.

· Design and Conceptualization
Research and interpret data, trends, and benchmarks relevant to digital products/services design.

· Personal Capability Building
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfil personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

· Plant and Machinery Design and Installation
Install plant and machinery to the agreed design under supervision to meet specified operational requirements, organizational engineering standards, and regulatory standards.

· Data Collection and Analysis
Collate and analyse data using pre-set tools, methods and formats. Involves working independently.

· Portfolio Management
Deliver small project workstreams, carrying out specified project activities within defined time and quality parameters and ensuring adherence to the prescribed project management methodology.

· Improvement / Innovation
Implement improvements and provide feedback on them. Use change management systems and protocols to provide routine supportive services.

EDUCATION

· BSc/MSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics & Automation, Automation & Control, Computer & Electronic Systems or relevant other Degree.

EXPERIENCE

· Real world or class project “hands on” experience.

· Excellent computer skills.
