THERAPY STREAM DIRECTOR – HYBRID AND SURGICAL (Internal Candidates Only)

Terumo Aortic are currently looking to recruit a Therapy Stream Director – Hybrid and Surgical working with our Chief Commercial Officer, the role will provide leadership & guidance to the organisation in new product development, product lifecycle management through, product launch planning and execution, commercial support, and Global KOL engagement. This is an exciting role where you will implement interdepartmental collaboration to provide direction to R&D, regulatory, QA, QC, production, and clinical, as well as end users to develop & launch new products as well as support the existing portfolio.
 

The Key Responsibilities of the role are;

  • Work with the Hybrid and Surgical teams to develop global Product Strategy for Hybrid, Surgical and auxiliary solutions, aligning to the Terumo Aortic Commercial strategy.
  • Act as Strategic Pipeline sponsor ensuring that projects meet timelines and budget, facilitating problem solving and escalation of key decisions as required.
  • Strategic execution of product lifecycle management, including market research, New Product Pricing and Reimbursement, Product Marketing material updates, clinical claims/data creation, sales support and product rationalization.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with the sales leadership and clinical specialist teams, as well as physician Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Cross-functional core team lead for existing and new products and initiatives to meet business strategies, supporting the company’s long-term growth and revenue achievement.
  • Work with Downstream Marketing to develop go-to-market global launch strategies, to ensure timelines are met and track key performance indicators.
  • Support analysis of sales and market trends by product and geography to inform decision making on the tactics required by Sales and Downstream Marketing to drive business results.
  • Manage and Lead the Value Stream Process via fixed and dotted reporting line channels, with direct-report Product Managers responsible for Market-Needs, Customer-Input, Product-Development, Product-Launch and Product-Life-Cycle-Management responsibilities specific to the device/(s) under their supervision, as well as, a team of (dotted reporting line)  indirect-report Value Stream team members (R&D, QA, QC, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Customer Care, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs) working towards successfully delivering therapy solutions that meet internal deadlines in order to satisfy customer and patient needs.

Strategic Product Portfolio Direction

  • Lead, formulate and execute strategic marketing plans for the Terumo Aortic surgical and hybrid portfolios; whilst collaborating with KOLs  to determine strategic direction for range expansions and evolutions, whilst collaborating internally to determine strategic direction of regulatory submissions.

Market Needs and Customer Input

  • Provide regular programme performance updates to cross-functional partners;
  • Monitor and gather market statistics;
  • Conduct competitor analysis and provide combative strategies.

Product Development

  • Provide market intelligence for strategic concept filtering projects;
  • Support business case development of new product opportunities;

Product Launch

  • Lead launch of new commercial design configurations;
  • Develop and conduct training on new configurations;
  • Raise awareness and application of relevant subject matter;
  • Develop new upstream marketing content and materials;
  • Monitor post-launch feedback and implement changes through the TVS ((R&D, QA, QC, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Customer Care, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs)
  • Coordinate and provide product training for the internal and external stakeholders.

Product Life Cycle Management

  • Management of product life cycle of products within the Hybrid portfolio and OSG including gelatin business continuity project;
  • Support updating of IFUs;
  • Sales operation planning in line with launch strategies;
  • Provide instruction and guidance to the indirect reports (Therapy Stream team members) to ensure on-time delivery of clinical trial results, registries, submissions, approvals etc 
  • Work with Quality and R&D to input knowledge to CAPAs to determine their cause, suggest methods of resolution and provide link to customer.
  • Support customer visits and factory tours;
  • Maintain costs within expense budget.

 

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business, or Marketing.
  • 10+ years’ experience in the Aortic medical device industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Proven success developing and delivering strategic marketing plans across geographies.
  • In-depth understanding of Terumo Aortic products, clinical applications, and customer value chain.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate clinical/technical data into commercial value.
  • Experience collaborating with KOLs and leading cross-functional global teams.
  • Resides in close proximity to the Head Office.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Business or related field.
  • Experience in global product launch execution and strategic business planning.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular technologies and trends in hybrid therapies.
