Purpose and Objectives:

  • Strategic Business Development: Assume ultimate responsibility for ensuring that Terumo Aortic has a diversified and creative business development strategy that effectively drives the adoption of next-generation products and digital solutions & services worldwide across both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) markets.
  • Marketing and Pipeline Management: Oversee upstream marketing, clinical marketing, business development, and product pipeline.
  • Leadership and Budget Management: Manage departmental budget and provide leadership to teams to ensure consistent behaviors and fulfillment of the company’s strategic goals.
  • Product and Service Strategy: Develop, implement, and monitor business development strategies for all future product pipelines and services, including product lifecycle creation, development, and implementation of digital solutions and services, and clinical education platforms.
  • Market Analysis: Track and analyze changes across the vascular and cardiovascular landscape, including customer unmet needs, competitive portfolio needs, competitors, and pricing/reimbursement practices, to enhance company value and presence in line with customer expectations and changing market trends.
  • Patient Ecosystem Enhancement: Own and enhance the Patient Ecosystem by adding digitalization to each of the four segments: Prevention, Diagnosis, Treatment, Recovery & Care.
  • Voice of Customer and Advisory Boards: Manage and own global Voice of Customer events across surgical and endovascular solutions. Create and manage advisory boards across the Endo and Surgical/FET portfolio.
  • B2B Expansion: Increase responsibility to add multiple companies to the B2B list, driving increased value and profitability within the OEM business.
  • Team Development: Coach, mentor, and develop departmental associates globally and conduct performance management.
  • Expenditure and Quality Management: Manage and control expenditure with Business Development P&L responsibility, ensuring that the quality system operation within the company is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Business Development Leadership: Direct and control global business development functions to achieve organizational goals.
  • Strategic Direction: Provide strategic direction and motivation to achieve targeted results.
  • Product Promotion & Marketing: Ensure future products are promoted and marketed effectively, supporting the introduction of new products and digital solutions across commercial functions and company-wide departments.
  • Expenditure Control: Manage and control departmental expenditure efficiently.
  • High-Level Relationship Management: Develop and maintain high-level relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs).
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with current practices in vascular, endovascular, and cardiac surgery.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership to teams to ensure consistent behaviors and progress towards business strategic goals.
  • Team Development: Develop and deliver high-performing teams through clear objective setting for both teams and individuals.
  • Quality System Operation: Ensure the operation of the quality system within the company.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Essential: Undergraduate Degree in Clinical Studies or Business Studies
    • Desirable: Postgraduate education in Business Administration
  • Experience:
    • Essential: 5+ years of global business development or upstream marketing management, leading teams
    • Desirable: Experience in the endovascular and cardiac field, digital solutions, B2C and B2B markets
    • Extensive 1st and 2nd line management experience
    • Proven track record of identifying new products/services/solutions, resulting in increased sales and profitability
    • Experience in global KOL management and advisory board creation
    • Global P&L management
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrated drive, leadership, and communication skills
    • Computer literate
    • Effective communication with a customer-centric approach
    • Multilingual proficiency
